EMOTIONAL FREEDOM TECHNIQUE ALLERGY & ENVIRONMENTAL THERAPY KINESIOLOGY HERBAL MEDICINE and FLOWER ESSENCES EMOTIONAL FREEDOM TECHNIQUE This ‘Meridian Therapy’ was developed by Gary Craig and it has been his mission to make this amazing technique accessible to everyone. Based on the discovery that ‘The cause of all negative emotions is a disruption in the body’s energy system’ the aim of EFT is to correct this disruption and allow for the renewed flow of energy. When energy is blocked it can manifest in any number of symptoms, both emotional and physical. EFT can be used for almost any condition e.g. Addictions, Allergies, Asthma, Depression, Headaches, Insomnia, Low Self-esteem, Nightmares, Pain (acute or chronic, anywhere on the body) Phobias, Post Traumatic Stress, Psoriasis, Stress related illness etc.WATCH VIDEO By finger tapping on certain meridian points on the body whilst mentally tuning in to specific life events or current problems that have an emotional ‘charge’, we are able to open a release valve and provide a safe and gentle means to let go of negative past experiences. By ridding ourselves of beliefs and habits that no longer serve us, we become free to live in the present and enjoy a sense of well-being that may have eluded us for any number of years. At the Chestnut Clinic clients may wish to use EFT exclusively or combine it with homeopathic treatment, or kinesiology. Helen has found the use of EFT complements Homeopathy in a seamless way. While a homeopathic remedy is an extremely powerful tool to bring about positive change for an individual, the use of EFT encourages a greater degree of personal input to the process.Within a session Helen will work in whatever way best meets a client’s needs at the time. Having been taught how to apply EFT to themselves, clients are empowered to use this technique at home, and so accelerate their own healing journey. Helen is a qualified EFT practitioner, registered with the Association for the Advancement of Meridian Therapy Techniques – click here to visit the AAMET website top of page ALLERGY & ENVIRONMENTAL THERAPY Allergy testing at the Chestnut clinic is carried out as an extension to a homeopathic consultation; the latter involves taking a full case history of the patient. In treating allergy it is important to take into consideration all the factors that may be contributing to a person’s health problems. The aim is not simply to identify allergens and advise on an elimination diet and/or avoidance measures; the holistic approach is to look at causative factors and implement a treatment plan that will address the root of the problem. For example, if a person is in reasonable health but happens to have an allergy to one or two substances then it may be appropriate to give desensitisation treatment for these items alone. If however a person suffers from multiple allergies and is in a poor state of health, homeopathic treatment needs to be directed at repairing the immune system and supporting an individual on many levels; mental, emotional and physical. The process of desensitisation involves the use homeopathic preparations of particular allergens, administered in a prostaglandins-potentiated formula. The method of Allergy testing used at the Chestnut Clinic, is Kinesiology; a form of muscle testing which is able to identify factors in an individual’s environment that have a weakening effect on the body’s energy system. top of page KINESIOLOGY Applied Kinesiology is a truly holistic natural health care system which uses gentle muscle testing to evaluate many functions of the body at a structural, chemical, neurological, or biochemical level. Kinesiological muscle testing does not assess strength, but tests the integrity of a muscle when in contact with possible stressors (e.g certain foods, chemicals, or negative emotions) . This provides important information about which meridians in the body are out of balance and whether there is a corresponding organ weakness. A good analogy would be to compare the energy in the body to a free flowing river. An ‘energy block’ would be like a dam forming in the river by an accumulation of logs; the water cannot flow as readily and life downstream will be compromised. A kinesiologist is able to identify where such ‘dams’ in the body might be and remove the ‘logs’ that are hampering the flow. Blocked energy in the body leads to functional changes, which causes symptoms such as pain or hypersensitivity reactions.. A Kinesiologist can correct such a block through the massage of certain contact points, and other techniques designed to re-establish balance in the system’s energy flow as a whole. The Kinesiologist can also determine what nutritional or therapeutic factors will be of benefit. top of page HERBAL MEDICINE and FLOWER ESSENCES Although most often a rapid restoration to health can be achieved just with the use of potentised homeopathic remedies, in some cases it is necessary to use herbal remedies in a tincture form (i.e.'mother tincture',that is neither succussed not diluted) For example, in the elderly certain organs of the body may be weak and need to be gently toned over time. A simple heart tonic such as Crataegus, or a liver support such as Chelidonium may be required. If there is chronic lung disease then herbal formulations can play an important role in strengthening and opening up the lungs. With asthma the gradual withdrawal of inhaler use can be managed very smoothly. There are a huge number of herbal preparations that have particular affinities for different parts of the body. The ability to incorporate the use of herbal formulas is a vital aspect of providing health care that takes account of individual susceptibility at a very detailed level. Bach Flower Remedies and Bush Flower Essences have established reputations for their healing powers. They are prescribed on presenting emotional states but inevitably, when an emotional disturbance is resolved, related physical symptoms will be relieved. The positive effect of using the Flower essences is wonderfully expressed by Edward Bach himself:
